A Diverse Career Path: Startup, R&D, Defense, Global…
I began my career at a healthcare-related startup, where overwork and travel were the norm. We often worked in distant cities, almost living in the hospitals where we worked. We were wearing various hats and adapting to still-evolving internal procedures and systems.
I worked for a medium-sized R&D company. I worked on cutting-edge security projects, including network scanning and vulnerability detection. I had a chance to see innovative technologies and approaches, even if I didn’t work with them.
I worked for a defense company. It taught me about completely different dynamics and target audiences. It was a great feeling to start a project from scratch and see it become valuable.
Rapid changes and unique events marked my journey with a globally well-known company. I’ve navigated various challenges and transitions from acquisitions to office closures, remote work, and layoffs. I’ve designed successful distributed architectures and managed significant projects.
Highs and Lows
I’ve had the privilege of working with new and seasoned managers and experiencing different leadership styles. I’ve faced conflicts, stood my ground, and learned when to compromise.
In parallel to my work life, I got married and have two kids, which is another story full of life experience.
My mistakes have shaped my growth, and I’ve learned to persevere during hard times.
Unique Insights
Each piece of this journey was a great learning opportunity for me with unique characteristics. I’m still learning from mistakes and achievements, both mine and others.
Now, it’s time to give back to the community and start writing and talking about my very own journey.
